Do you think they are slow playing the releases so they are actually in stock when shown? I think that would be cool. Kind of like phones, it took 2-3 months after announcements a few years back but now they are available 1-2 weeks after announcement. It would also give a leg up on Rolex.
Supposedly in mid May. The retailers have already seen everything and placed their orders. Seems to be some confusion about whether they will release everything at once in May, or if they will slow-drip some new pieces between now and then. Either way, it's frustrating to have to wait.
So I was bouncing around Instagram today and I stumbled across this...
This isn't in Omega's current line up. It's not the blue/silver version. It's not the new Deep Black because it has a date window. I'm guessing this is a new piece. Am I missing something here? Not trying to post fake news and I don't think this is photoshop. If it's real, then I definitely like it.

I don't recall it either, and man does that thing look great. The new 300s are awesome. The only thing I would change, and it is personal preference for sure, is that I wish they had a jumping hour hand like the PO's.
IF they announce a new SMP in May, and I doubt they will, it probably wont be in stores until September. Why would they release another one after last years complete redesign. There may be a GMT option but that's about it (a 2 tone ceramic GMT bezel would be very welcome though). Someone mentioned getting supplies into stores quickly so they're easy to buy. I have a nasty feeling Omega are attempting "a Rolex" and creating demand and excitement for a watch and then trickling them into stores. Last years SMP was a pretty good attempt. Check this forum for all the excitement and speculation about it hitting stores etc. They weren't widely available in all colours until November and they sold well and the biggest part of all this was they weren't heavily discounted due to the tighter supplies. In contrast, if they dropped another 5 models and filled the stores in June you would have a couple of threads with photos and they would be widely discounted by August so you can't blame omega for attempting the rolex strategy. I also think one of the reasons some brands pulled out of Baselworld was the fact they are under pressure to produce something "new" every year. This is where you have to hand it to Rolex for their simple range that rarely gets refreshed. It keeps their prices high as people dont hold off for the new release the following year. Im not a Rolex fanboy by the way. I dont currently own a Rolex and hate the horrific purchasing experience of buying one but Omega are in danger of making their ranges too broad and becoming like Breitling were at one point and it definitely affects the secondary market for their watches and none of us want that.
A little birdie told me that Omega will be releasing details and photos around mid-May on their new 2019 models, including an additional 50th Apollo 11 LE, that's mostly stainless steel with some hint of gold and will retail for $9500-ish. Also there'll be a new Bond LE, limited 7007 pieces, likely based on the new 2018 SMP's to be released in Dec, featuring a gun barrel design on it and will retail for $6500-ish. Little birdie has no further info on the 321 Speedmaster, still about $10K to $12K for SS model, limited to 2K per year but not an LE, or if more details and photos will be shared during the mid-May event or not.
Boutiques and some ADs are already taking names on lists for these.
I've posted this comment numerous times over the years - I'm still hoping for an updated 2254
Black dial, sword hands, put it straight into the newer SMP case, keep the newer bezel, movement etc. Simple
Offer it on rubber too and I'm saving my pennies for another new one
Just like back in the day when the blue bond with skeleton hands and the 2254 were simultaneously available (yes I know that the newer models are also available in black dial/bezel, but I prefer the sword hands)
Talked to my very friendly AD yesterday. Tried to pry some new information out of him. The only thing he would say is that their will be a white dial 300m Diver. Not my thing, but thought other folks might be interested.
I'm excited about the SS Speedmaster. I think it will be somewhat similar to the 45th anniversary. However, I wish Omega stopped with the multiple versions of Speedmasters - seems to dilute the brand IMO.
