*NEW* SEIKO Prospex SPB077/SPB079 44mm Divers

I havnt seen a thread on them yet but they have been discussed in the latest Seiko thread, thought id make a thread for my fellow Seikopaths as im pretty excited about these, thanks to Yonsson for the pics.

These look a carry on from the 42mm 62mas SPB053/51 renditions Seiko put out last year, but with a 44mm case and classic Seiko 4 o'clock crown, which i personally love.

    Leaked pictures above

Im guessing the prices will be the same as the SPB051/53, basically all the same specs.
A little disappointing as they look like 20mm lugs like the Sumo, 22mm are a better size for 44mm watches imo, but each to their own.
Lugs also look very long like the sumo although sometimes close up pics can be misleading, but they do look long.
Also not sure im a fan of the thin silver ring on the inside edge of the bezel insert, on the watches i own that have that it tends to formalise the watches a bit, i'll hold my judgement on it till when i see it
Dial, hands, case all look nice.

A challenger for the Sumo? both the same size.

I'm looking forward to seeing them in the flesh, they look to tick a lot of boxes.

Should be announced at Basel and released soon after in guessing.

Anybody think of an early nickname :)

    Cheers

Titanium - gonna be pricey these ones I think. More shogun territory than Sumo...

    Not bad. I like these.

FWIW - I thought I wasn't going to like the 20mm lugs on my Sumo but I was wrong. Something about how the whole watch comes together.

I don't know whether the dial on these looks too sparse at 44mm... Beginning to look like a tudor or rolex.

The case and lugs look more reminiscent of the MM300 than the SPB05x. Looks like a cross between the two.

You know what would be really great? A 40mm version that doesn't cost as much as a Tudor.
