It's been a lot of fun watching all the speculation and rumors flying around the re-release of Seiko's most legendary diver: the 62MAS, now introduced as the SLA017. And now that we've had some hands-on time with the fruit of all that anticipation, it's clear that this watch has aged extremely well since 1965, despite a slight size increase to 40mm. Seiko has kept the rest of its dimensions very conservative, which should please a wide variety of wrist sizes, and many of the purists who've been eagerly waiting for this release. The watch is going to be a limited edition fitted with an 8L35, and exhibits a much more high-end finish and price point than the original. Expected release is in July.
