Can I introduce to you my old boy

    Hello WUS!
Today I saw a picture of my beloved Seiko 5, and decided to show it to the world.
This is my second watch I ever bought. /The first was an Orient, and was stolen from me./ I bought this Seiko in 1999. I was a child back then. It was on my wrist trough out the endless summer vacations, playing with my friends, going on dates, whatever you can imagine it was by my side. I have countless memories related to this watch. After 10 years of every day use I feelt in love with a Tissot PRS516 and put the Seiko in the drawer. I forgot about it until the last year. When I found it I felt extremely happy! Got it serviced, but kept the scratched mineral glass, because of the character it gives. Now is in rotation and I think this is the most beautiful, most comfortable and most reliable watch ever! So here it is, my beloved, beaten, 20 years old Seiko 5...

Very cool, zaskoo! When you've worn a watch for a long time through important life events and memories it becomes even more special. My first automatic was an SKX009 and I wore that thing for years- when I got engaged, married, and when both my sons were born. Mine is pretty dinged up too, and I actually have a new bezel insert and sapphire crystal sitting in my tool box to replace the originals. Haven't had the heart to install them yet, and who knows, maybe I never will. Thanks for posting! :)

Thank you! You have made me smile! You really understand the idea of this post! I am not saying that one small and cheap Seiko 5 is the best watch ever. My connection with it made this Seiko, the best ever! Thank you again! Your story with your kids and your SKX is just as special as mine! Thank you for sharing!

I like how you kept the mineral glass.
It's still the same watch from your childhood.
Your young self - still with you.
