Crystaltimes Case issues: Anyone else have issues with loose movement?

    Little bummed.

I just installed the crystal in the CT700 case and dropped in the NH36 movement from them with the black spacer from my SKX....and...the movement rattles and isn't tight.

Anyone else have this problem? Tolerance issues? I reached out to them but nothing yet. A bit annoyed as I've installed the crystal already.

I experienced this very same thing with one of my first CT700 builds. I ended up buying a new 7S26 movement spacer (Seiko part no. 4408 171) and it fit perfectly into the case. In the dozen plus CT cases I've built on so far, I've only used new movement spacers and have not yet revisited a loose fit.

Iíve got 2 CT700s, a CT707 and a CT704 and have not experienced anything like this. On the 700s and 707 the movíts were all new with new spacers obviously, but the 704 is reusing a movít, dial, etc. and the fit is not what Iíd call loose.

i used the nh36 grey spacer on my ct700 case, no need to swap it for the 7s26 black spacer, it's not the seiko skx case

No need, per se due to the fact that the grey spacer usually fits so snug in the case, but if you are using an OEM Seiko case back or an aftermarket one with OEM specs, then the case back isn't actually holding the movement in place. Rather, it's the friction fit. That should be fine so long as the movement isn't being removed from the case repeatedly. CT and Watch & Style both have case back covers designed for use with the grey spacer that features a raised inner wall to take up the lost thickness.

appreciate the feedback. I put the NH36 spacer in and it worked fine.

What is strange is that the NH36 grey spacer is slightly loose and the black spacer is tight in my SKX case but the black spacer is loose and the grey one is tight in my Crystaltimes case...
