Help me choose a Seiko to round out a small collection

I'm looking for a Seiko to pair with my Casio Oceanus S100 as part of a 2-Japanese-watch "collection". I have non-Japanese dress watches, so I'm open to either dress or non-dress here.
    Criteria:

    • Mechanical
    • Lug-to-lug under 47.5mm
    • Very strong preference for dials without a date window
    • Water resistance of 100m - not a deal breaker if a vintage or dress piece
    • Preferably a light-colored dial (I also like enamel very much, but not stark white)
    • Offers manual winding / hacking (but could be automatic)
    • Price under $1500 (I could make an exception and go higher, but it would need to be compelling enough to sell one of my higher-end Swiss watches).

    Anyone care to weigh in?

Seiko make very few no date models.

PRS-29A turn up occasionally on f29 sales forum. Handwind highbeat Swiss ETA in choice of either 36mm (29A) or 40mm (29B)

Hamilton handwind lowbeat Khaki Field Mechanical H69439411, older models have the same highbeat handwinder as the Smiths PRS-25.

I've previously owned that Smiths. Part of the fun/challenge is sourcing a no-date Seiko. I appreciate the rarity. It's also not a deal breaker, especially if it has a day wheel with Kanji.

Another one I've had my eye on, but I'm looking for a Seiko particularly because I'm currently living in Asia (after 5+ years in Switzerland) and want a Japan-specific watch to pair with the Oceanus. Date is not a deal-breaker, just a preference.

Kanji JDM models should be available SNZF models in various dial colors.

    38mm Sea Urchins

    SNZF25 and SNZF23

Sounds like you want a SARB035

Meets all your criteria except the date window. Also, it comes on a bracelet, but is a true strap monster and really shines on third party leather.

Sarb 035 also gets my vote or you could look for a King Seiko 5621 Hi Beat (36mm)

    Consider a used Grand Seiko.

Vintage Grand Seiko no date. (45GS)

Vintage Grand Seiko no date (SBGF015)

Both are available out there, easily within the budget.
