It seems Turtle, or some variation, has won the day. My suggestion was going to be shirudo, which is Japanese for shield.

    Exclamation DON'T GIVE UP!!!

    .

Don't give up folks, it wasn't really Seiko that called them that amphibian name, it's just the web site for Seiko Austria!!

Why should Austria of all places get to name these watches!! Rise up! RISE UP!!! Let's think of a better name and start using it!!

I have always loved this dial design because of the sword at the 12 o'clock marker. Its completely unique to these watches, unlike the cushion style case.

So how about "Sword"? The Seiko Sword, the Sword Diver?

Come on folks, don't bow down!!!

And if Seiko is already calling this new homage a Turtle, the momentum may be hard to stop.
I hope we won't call the original 6309 by any nickname.
And for this new "Prospex" homage I think I'm going to refer to it as the Xurtle, which is pronounced "zturtle", like you are about to say "strudy" with a Russian accent, but then decide to end the word like you meant to say turtle!

Seiko Apocalypse is pretty good. Perhaps the Sheen or the Marty like the Arnie, but since it's new we could call it the Charlie :)

why nor call it the Martin Sheen or the apocalyps.

I can't believe I've never noticed that on the 6309 until just now. Now I can never unsee it. And maybe that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Also, I know the watch isn't going to be released until early next year -- I hope -- but now I'm struggling between the blue on bracelet and the pepsi on black strap.

Ideally, I'd go for the Pepsi on bracelet. But it seems that we can't have both. I could order the Pepsi and get the bracelet separately.

Damn, damn, damn! I wasn't expecting to gun for another watch so soon.

Are they 22mm or 20mm lugs?
