Absolutely agree. Nobody calls new Rolex dive watches a Submariner. Too confusing.

I don't want to give similar name to the infamous original Seiko turtle.
So i look at the distinct 12 marker that looks like a fan. And the fat case.
Looking a close relation to his brother SUMO and SHOGUN.
    I Propose the name GUNBAI.

or we can just call it

    Seiko FatGai :D :D

    (Fat case & Gunbai)

it's distinct, memorable, and FUN! :D

OMG, you've taken my beloved, sacred sword and turned it into a Pogo-stick with a fat kid on it!

Still, a great observation and a very creative idea!!

So, I can get behind this! The Pogo! A Seiko Pogo. The Pogo Diver. It has a nice "ring" to it.

Sure to get confused with the Pogue chronograph, but who cares!

    Question 77 Sunset Strip?

    .

Okay, here is another interesting suggestion.

Since all the model numbers start with SRP77, why not call them Seiko 77s, the 77 Divers, a Seiko 77?

Or for the elderly in the audience who remember 77 Sunset Strip, call them Seiko Sunset Divers, a Seiko Sunset.

Since we have the original Turtle 6309 and taking into consideration the reissued ones which comes in a number of model numbers or varieties, let's just call it the X-Turtle 772 / 773 / 775 / 777 etc etc.

    I like Pogo.

Another vote for Pogo. Hate Turtle, even though tons of people have called the 6309 that for decades. Pogo is Go.
