    Need help setting Citizen 1100

    Hello,

I found a watch that I had tucked away some time ago. It's a Citizen 1100. I have no idea how to set the day and date features. I visited their site, but could not find the manual for my model.

Also, the watch needs a new battery. Can this be done at Walmart, or should this watch go to a jewelry?

    Any help appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Jim

Hi Jim and welcome to the forum

Could you possibly post some pictures of the front and back of the watch?
That would help immensely in getting you some solid feed back.

    First order of advice is:
    - don't take it to W-Mart
    - don't take it to a jeweler

If you have to take/send it anywhere, it needs to be a watchmaker.

Hang in there; we're with you and will help out any way we can.

    Hello,

Thank you for the welcome and for the input. I tried snapping a picture of the back of the watch with my iPhone 4s - what a chore that was! I will share the picture, but I will also type the numbers.

Lots of info on the back. From top to bottom, exactly as it appears on the watch:

    CITIZEN WATCH CO.
    WATER RESIST
    BASE METAL SSG
    1100-K11294 CKW
    920228
GN-4W-S (ARROW POINTING TO THE RIGHT) 10
    MOV'T JAPAN

    Thank you again,

    Jim

From all the searches that provided hits; this looks to be a standard three hand display with day/date.
Normally you set the day and date by pulling the crown out to the first position then turn it one way to set the day and the other way to set the date. If you pull the crown all the way out to the second position; you can then set the time.

Re: Need help setting Citizen 1100

Update: took the watch to a local jewelry while I was out running errands - he dropped a new battery in it, but it didn't operate. He suggested I send it to Citizen for a cleaning. He said this takes 2-4 months, and costs about $90. UGH!

Will probably put it back in the drawer and find a new watch.

    Thank you,

    Jim
