    NH and 7S Stems

Was hoping the kind folk with some experience in this might be able to help me out regarding the crown stem compatibility between the NH35/36 and 7S26 movements. I don't think this is a common mod given it is somewhat a 'downgrade', but does anyone know if a crown stem designed for the NH35/36 is compatible in the 7S26 movement?

Ive never given thought into the vice versa situation and figure it might come in useful in a build I have planned with left over parts of previous mods.

    Thanks!

I don't think they are compatible. The NH stem is shaped specifically to link with the winding pinion and date corrector which are different on the 7S.

Cheers for the info! I thought as much, although curiously, the CrystalTimes crown and stems seem to be compatible with both as stated on their website. Im guessing this might be a slightly different stem configuration than stock NH or 7S stems?. Hopefully someone with more info or experience with the CT stems can chime in

The stem for an NH/4R/6R is backwards compatible. I would imagine Crystaltimes only offers this stem to reduce the number of parts they have to house.

    Re: NH and 7S Stems

The stem for an NH/4R/6R is compatible with 7S, but not the other way round.
It will everything for a 7S what a 7S stem will do - set time, change day/date.

But a 7S stem will not be able to wind a 4R / NH, etc.

In other words, you can go "down" in calibre, but not "up".
