Picture Seiko TiCTAC JDM 35 Anniversary Models SZSB006 SZSB007

A quiet afternoon, then my friend texted me this Seiko announcement today. These special editions are gorgeous!

TiCTAC was founded in 1984, like my buddy, and they're celebrating their 35th anniversary with 2 special editions with 40mm case, cathedral hands, 4R35 movement, date window. I'm partial to the sunburst dial myself, wish they offered it in bracelet and matched the white hands to markers better. The matte black dial looks so classic.

SZSB006 - cream hands, matte black dial, bracelet

SZSB007 - white hands, sunburst dial, faux-gator leather

    What you guys think?

They better be really inexpensive with that movement powering them.

Seiko really needs to upgrade the movements to beyond the 4r/6r15. This is really getting to be an old problem and should have been addressed long ago. Many other brands are eating Seiko’s lunch using the Miyota 9015 at lower prices.

I'm so over the fake aged lume trend. I can't wait for when they all look dated and stupid.

The other one with the anthracite dial looks friggen gorgeous.

    And yeah... what is TICTAC?

Tictac is a Japanese watch retailing chain, so I was made to understand (anyone can verify this?)

Priced at 54000 yen, which is about $500. Not bad at all.

Aren’t these powered by the 4R35s with the 80-hour power reserve or something?
