    "Snowflake" quartz

I have an old Seiko quartz with what looks like a snowflake dial. I purchased it in a USAF bx back in 1975-76 and wore it several years until another replaced it. Don't know the model number now, but it is one that has a special compartment on the back for the battery. I ran across it a few months back, took the old battery out and orderded a new one. When I put the battery in it did not run, I checked the contacts, tested the new battery, good, and still nothing so i stuck it back. Last week I looked and it is running, so I reset day and date, and now a week later it's still running and keeping good time. I think back when I purchased it, the dial was what caught my attention, as does the newer snowflake models.
