Strange discoloration on the caseback of a new Seiko

I received a brand new Seiko monster today (3rd gen made in Japan model)
When I was about to peel off the blue sticker, I found what appears to be a burn (rust?) mark (?)
It's a little hard to photograph, but it looks kind of like the rainbow-colored burn mark you get from stainless steel kettle

I was wondering if other members have any experience with this.
What could've caused this? Surely it can't be rust? In your opinion, is a cause for concern?
    cheers

What do you think it is? Have you seen flaws like this in a new watch (Seiko or not)
Should I open the caseback to have a look inside and decide whether if it should be returned?

If you want to return it then I would definitely not open it. You could leave marks, or get into a “you tried to fix it debate”. It obviously bothers you, you can’t tell if the movement was damaged by whatever happened so I would simply return it.

That's a manufacture defect. The discoloration looks like heat; if the back was shaped correctly, the polishing machine should have polished it out like the rest of the back.

It should've been rejected at the factory before it was placed on the watch. Send it back for a new one.

If I was to take a wild guess I’d say it was some sort of flaw in the steel. It clearly bothers you so I wouldn’t do anything to the watch - just return it.

The concern I have is, could it be a form of rusting (Is that even possible? 316 stainless steel rusting?)
I couldn't get it to show in the photo, but along the edge of the caseback (gap between the caseback and the case) there's some brown discolouration.
    Looks almost like rust

From the new pics it looks even more like a flaw - send it back PDQ.

There’s a similarly coloured mark on the case as well.
