Thoughts on 6139 Dial Colors? (To Pogue, Or Not to Pogue)

Time to branch out from my usual divers and the 6139 is really catching my eye (and apparently everybody else's these days).

I have a pretty staid set of automatics: a SKX399, SKX401, a Dagaz TII with classic black dial (a 6105 homage), and a blue Sumo. So mostly all blacks and one blue. I have never worn gold jewelry - my wedding band is tungsten (or was platinum until a surf trip... sigh). The pepsi bezel on the SKX401 was what really got me interested in the 6139.

The three iterations of the 6139 600x look great to me... wondering about people's thoughts on colorways:
    1. The real Pogue (yellow) looks amazing and has the backstory. But I can't tell if the gold dial is beyond my style, or if it would be a welcome change. Is it flashy? Does it attract too much attention?
    2. The blue watch is easy call for me, it fits right in with my existing collection. But could be boring. I can't tell how the dial plays in sunlight... most pics make it look dark and matte. Any thoughts on this color? Is it matte?
    3. The silver one represents somewhat of a happy medium: not as flashy as the gold dial, but a bit dressier and different than yet another black/blue dialed watch. It also seems to be slightly less common?

All thoughts welcome - especially those on style, collectability and anything else I should be aware of.

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Pogue it all day.

But read up on the pogue buying guide. And wait to buy a good piece at a higher price and avoid buying a bad piece because it's cheaper.

Pogue indeed. But that would only be the gold version historically. Collectible as hell so the best of them go for about 850 dollars and more. Solution: buy one for the movement that has been restored and one original that stopped running.
I bought a verifyable original for 50 dollars and one other for 390 dollars. I will make one all original of that and will not lose my shirt on it for I know an expert watchmaker that will do the job true to form.

I have the dark blue matte dial. Love this watch and it runs like a top. My preference would be the silver dial. But then I'm a sucker for silver dials.

Blue dial with pepsi bezel. Blue shirt and call it done. Get one and you'll want the other

Hah, "call it done" sounds far from the truth... "call it just begun" sounds more like it.

Agreed, read up on them first. Good ones are getting scarce. Go for the yellow dial, 40+ years on and they still look good. Servicing isn't cheap either so spend the money getting a good one.

Not a pogue but here's my 6139-7080 with 40mm case and a beautiful beige dial.

Any thoughts on the dial on this one... it passes the index shape and night shiny lume test, the day/date frame test and Suwa test? But it is hard to tell if the sub-dial indices are in the right spot... apparently they should "come to the edge of the sub dial register ring." But it seems like that is hard to judge from pics due to the recessed nature of the sub dia... even some of the ones in this thread of an appearance of not coming to the edge.
