Aquis Bracelets - New version on Old version Case !?

Hey gents , anyone have any idea if a new style 43.5 taper bracelet would fit on a first gen 43 aquis ?

I really like the taper and proportions of the new style , i know it wouldn’t be ideal given the case lug thickness but was wondering if it would look totally absurd!?

    Thanks guys
Im sure somebody has tried it :)

No, they don't. The new Aquis endlinks use a tri-wing screw and collar system. A complete pain in the rear end to change straps on the new Aquis. I've heard of watch techs at AD stripping the thread on the new model while trying to change the straps.

I much prefer the triwing to the old slotted screws. Trying to hold two screwdrivers and the watch at the same time was always a bit awkward. I know they make cheap little block things to hold the watch during such procedures, but it’s nice to not need anything other than a single screwdriver to change straps.

As to the OPs question, I’ve never tried swapping bracelets, but I did try to put the new version rubber on the old style case and the strap fit well, but the holes were just the tiniest bit offset, not allowing the screw to go all the way through.
