Smile Diver Date question - First Oris in my collection

Having dabbled in lesser brands over the years and only ever climbed to the dizzy heights of a TAG I thought I'd treat myself and go for some serious Swiss. This was delivered to me yesterday.

A couple of questions for you guys if you can help.
First off I kind of know about the "Bronze / Orange, faded" dial scenario and from what Iv'e read online it's either caused by moisture ingress at some point or extreme sunlight in the first days when Brand New.
Either way I don't mind as I think it adds to the charm and "Unique" look. But has anyone here got any theories.
Second question is the fact that the watch has lost about 30 seconds in 24 hours. Is this acceptable or could it do with a service / adjustment?

If it's new then it will need to run in over the next few months before you need to worry about time keeping. You might find that it gets better as the oils distribute you might find out gets worse but don't worry about it for now. Just enjoy your new watch.

Hi Thanks for your reply. The watch isn't new I'm told it is a 2013 model. I'm the 2nd owner.

I don't think a satisfactory answer was ever arrived at for the "bronzing" that happens in some watches. The best reason that was arrived at was that it was caused by some defect in the paint used on the dial. Another thing to look out for on that model in the hands developing tiny blemishes with time.
-30 SPD is not acceptable for the watch. Check with Oris if that particular watch has a 3 year MyOris guarantee and if so is it still valid. Either way I think a service and tuneup is called for.

And to add to the excellent comments of Sticky's, the bronzed dials are considered to be very collectible by many Oris collectors.

Thanks for you comments guys. I'd hoped the tales of collect-ability were true.
I'll get it looked at and running better.

    A closer look.

My watch guys says this is similar to a 'Rolex Lacquer' problem from a few years ago.

Strange that the "Waves" are not effected ?

At one point Oris did a blue chrono and just the centre of the sub-dials sometimes went bronze. When that happened they didn't half look good.
