opinions: Having lugs + upper surface of the crown guards Brushed Aquis

    Hey

I am considering getting the top surfaces of the lugs and crown guards of my Aquis source of life polished.

I feel it would compliment the brushed tungsten bezel insert better than the original high polish, and hopefully not show light scratches as much.

Has anyone got some before and after pics if they had it done on their Aquis

Note: I cant see myself ever selling it so any loss in value due to being modified would not be a worry for me, also its on rubber. If I ever got the bracelet I would have that brushed to match

I’ve seen pics of a fully brushed Aquis (can’t even remember where) on a bracelet and it looked very nice indeed.

Gorgeous watch as is! Don't think it's necessary as the polished lugs match the polished bezel edge. + crown.

It would look nice w/ the lugs brushed but don't think it's worth the effort, and then you'd find yourself wanting the crown & bezel edge brushed

First off, the SOL is a beautiful watch. It is definitely on my list but most recently I had a chance to pick up a Clipperton and went that route.

I see where you are going with the brushed lugs and I agree it would go well with the bezel. It would also allow for the polished outer ring of the bezel to pop more.

Since this is a piece that is a keeper, I say go for it! You can always get a high polish put back on the lugs if you want it back.

Would love to see some close up shots if you go through with it!

I have an older aquis that I had the bracelet brushed, I still think that is one of the best looking dials in my collection, I really liked the brushed finish, but because of the size and thickness, never got much wrist time....
I ended up buying the newer version (43 mm) that solved a lot of my complaints about the size, especially the bracelet.
I don't know why, but in the newer model, I like the polished links and case. And so far I have no plans to get it brushed.

I would not... but it's your watch and if you're sure you don't need to worry about resale you should do what will make you happy.

My opinion is to leave it as is.
