    Oris Boutique in HK Closed

Sad to say the only Oris boutique in HK has closed. I visited the store about 3 weeks and tried the 65 diver. Went back there yesterday with the hopes of maybe picking one up but it has been boarded up. Still a lot of ADs to choose from but the range isn't the same as the boutique.

I was a little surprised by this as I'm new to the Oris brand. They seem to be producing great models of late and making some good inroads into Asian markets and it would have been a great way to check out their models.

It does seem a little odd as the last I heard Oris were concentrating a lot of their efforts on the Asian markets.

It's difficult to make it as a boutique for a small name.

The high rent in HK kills many stores. Also who buys at watch boutique? It is more of a showroom since the boutique rarely gives meaningful discount.

They might toss in a watch-winder and extra glass of wine.

Agreed was a little surprised by this. Also surprised that they only had 1 boutique in HK. Having said that when researching on google before posting I stumbled on a post saying they are opening a boutique in Beijing (or was it Shanghai)

Mainland tourists love boutiques, they're guaranteed of stock and can be in and out in a jiff.

Just an FYI the HK boutique when it existed was offering 15% discount off the 65 diver plus free strap. Not sure what an AD would do. The street side grey dealers in HK typically quote RRP and discount based on the brand. I'd imagine if the boutique is doing 15% the grey dealers would do at least 25%.

Can't say I ever stepped into there.
I've had good helpful service from the guys at the Oris section on the GF of K11.

I think you are referring to Global Timepieces, large AD at the back corner of K11? Surprisingly I walked past there a few weeks ago and that too was boarded up.
