    Oris depth gauge maintenance

Hi, I was looking at an aquis depth gauge but I was concerned with the gauge getting clogged or growing algae. Ive had a look at some other threads and other people have had the same concern but no one has actually said if it is a problem. Can anyone here who owns one let me know if this is a problem or if the gauge is easy to clean.

    cheers,

Oris will clean out any gunk or algae ... for a FEE.
I'm content with my watch collection

The DG comes with a syringe and fine tube that threads into the gauge hole. You fill the syringe with water beforehand and flush out any crud that has collected. Oris give very specific instructions that the tube must be clean of any deposits (including water) before the owner uses it for diving. There's zero chance of mine even getting wet - never mind actually diving.

So, basically, flush it out after diving with the provided tool, and 'all is good'. Seems pretty simple, and not much more effort than a normal fresh water cleaning of a watch after a dive.

Thanks for that. I'd heard that they provided some sort of cleaning tool but I couldn't find anything about it.

And what about salt water ? ... After 300 dives, even with your syringe of fresh water, i doubt you can clean the tube at 100%.
