Protect new Oris caseback crystal or don't worry about it?

    Hi,
I recently bought my wife a new Oris. I don't know how careful she will be and I also don't know how prone the back crystal is to scratching, so I am wondering whether I should put some kind of see-through protective layer over it. Is this a non-issue?

I would not. It does not see nearly as much action as the front, and even the front is pretty scratch proof despite constant wear.

Oris is pretty scratch-proof (at least on mine). If it does get scratched it will give it some personality!

IMO it’s a bit of a non starter of a problem. My biggest hassle is keeping them clear of wrist gunk I seem to produce in quantity and spread all over my watch backs.

Except for gunk, the caseback is the most protected part of the watch. Adding extra layer of protection would cause discomfort and accumulation of more gunk. I think it's better left as is.
