Sixty five leather strap, is it normal?

    Guys,

I have an Oris BC4 and a Hunter, both with leather straps that didn't last very long, about 1 year (not daily worn).

But my Sixty Five bico is 5 days old, and the strap has been falling apart since yesterday....

    Anybody experiencing this?

My 65 is on a bracelet but the way that I see it there is no way on this earth or Fullers Earth that the wear/disintegration is acceptable for a 5 day old watch. Maybe if it was 5 months old I might postulate that perhaps you were heavy on straps but 5 days....

Yeah, I thought so. I just texted my dealer, he said many similar complaints and suggested me to find a good replacement strap, which is now why I'm shopping

Wow thats crap, you should write an email to Oris showing your date of purchase and demand a replacement. You should spend an extra for it.

1 year, okay I can buy it, but 5 DAYS is just unacceptable. I wouldnt even accept it if it was a Seiko 5 with 1/5th of the price tag.

Before you buy make sure that the dealer will cover the cost.

Wow. That looks like a 5 year old leather bracelet.

In that case give the dealer some major nag. An Oris strap (any strap in fact) should last more than a couple of days.

Just checked out my son's bronze BC, bought 2 month ago (different dealer) but rarely worn - the strap is showing similar tear though mine is worse. Will see what the distributor has to say about it.
