Size Check - Oris Aquis 43.5mm on 17cm wrist

Tried the 43.5mm version on at the AD but questioning if it is too big and I should consider the 39.5mm version?

For reference my wrist is 17cm / 6.7"

    Cheers

Go one size down! It looks ok but just a tad big.

Don’t forget that Oris have recently brought out a 41.5mm version. That should be perfect for you.

    Ah the usual size/picture question...

    IN MY OPINION...

    1) Your picture is too up close, making it look bigger than it is
    2) The 43.5 Aquis has very short lugs, which makes it fit much better on smaller wrists
    3) What kind of "look" do you go for? Smaller watches in general? 40mm or less? Or do you like larger watches in general? 44mm or more?
    4) Find a 41.5 or 39.5 and see what calls to you best out of all three.

It dominates your wrist but you could get away with it. You might be happier with the 41.5mm though.

I have 6.5 inch wrists and went through the same thought process you are working through now. I ended up with the 39.5 Aquis and couldn't be happier.
In comparing the 2 sizes I thought the 39.5 was too small and the bracelet was too dainty. My son convinced me to get the 39.5. After wearing it for a while now I understand. I can play golf while wearing this size and don't have to remove my watch because it's too big/heavy. I have yet to bang it against a door jam or something similar. It took a few weeks for me to get used to a watch smaller than I usually wear but now I really like this size and will probably be selling my bigger watches.
However, it's a personal decision with no right or wrong. It's a beautiful watch with fantastic readability (not sure if that's really a word).
Enjoy the process and you made the right decision....any Aquis is the right choice.

If I was you, I would go with the 39.5mm version. You will probably find the 39.5mm Aquis more comfortable to wear.

16cm wrist here. I tried both sizes on at the store and in all honesty I could get away with the 43.5mm version without looking overly stupid. But the proportion to my wrist would make the Aquis look like one of those big ass fashion brand watches...

16cm wrist here and I have the previous generation 43mm in blue. I like the size, I wouldn't want it any smaller. I do wear it casually though.
If you want it to dress it up a bit and wear it with a suit or something, the new 41 might be a better pick.
