    Thoughts on Oris GMT Rega?

I tried in vain to order a Breitling Avenger II Gmt (Arabic dial) - discontinued and unavailable :(

So I am on the lookout for a sub £1800 GMT and quite like the ORIS BIG CROWN PROPILOT - ORIS GMT REGA LIMITED - 01 748 7710 4284-Set

Anyone, got one of these? (My other choice is a Tag Auaracer GMT Pepsi)

It is a very handsome watch, but new it is overpriced IMHO.

    Went for a pre-owned blue BigCrown 41mm under $1k

The Oris is a bit pricey but it’s the one I’d most likely go for.

I have one and really like it. I wished it was a couple mm’s smaller when I got it, but it’s size has grown on me. Super legible and keeps great time. No regrets here.

    Odyseus did you got it?
I’m quite interested with a GMT also.
Like the Tudor but it looks like they get some trouble with a date at some point
This Oris big crown GMT appeals to me, but 45mm...

Cool looking watch but you need a larger wrist for it not to look too oversized. Especially with the thin bezel.

Funnyingly enough I opted for something totally different ie this Ball limited edition pre order watch...
    Roadmaster Marine GMT (40mm)
    https://shop.ballwatch.ch/en/Marine_GMT-DG3030B-SCJ-BK

It's got a Pepsi Bezel, GMT function And tritium tubes.
The only snag is I have to wait until November/December to receive it :(

    Indeed totally different
By the way if you have a turning bezel on your GMT function watch, you can put the GMT hand wherever you want in the dial, and then turning the bezel to match the second zone. Correct?

Re: Thoughts on Oris GMT Rega?

I think this the case if you can't set the GMT hand independently? Ie where the GMT hand starts at 12 with the hour hand at midnight and at midday the GMT hand is at 6,while the hour hand is back at 12. I believe the old Rolex Pepsi GMTs worked this way. All the modern GMT watches have an independently adjustable GMT hand. Normally the rotating bezel is used by Divers to set their dive time :)
