    Vintage Service Suggestions (Oris Chronoris)

Hello everyone, I have recently purchased an original Oris Chronoris off of eBay. The watch is in working order, however it is losing about 30 sec/day. The tachy bezel was also installed upside down when it was serviced.

I would like to know if anyone has had any experience servicing a Chronoris here in the states. If so, how was the experience and where is the watchmaker located? I recently brought my watch to the service center at watchuwant.com and they said this particular watch wasn't in their wheelhouse.

Please let me know what you guys think and thank you in advance.

So beautiful piece... I can't help you but congratulations for your excellent taste.

So long as it doesn't need any Oris parts then any good watchmaker should be able to service it for you.

That's part of the issue. The watchmaker I brought it to didn't really want to tear it down because he was not sure what might or might not be available. I guess I will just have to send it to the lone Oris certified watchmaker in the states. Thank you.

Could you find a watchmake who will strip it down and do the work but is prepared to stop if it needs any Oris parts?

That's what I'm trying to do. I would like to know if anyone can recommend someone that has a good reputation with vintage watches or more specifically this vintage Oris Chronoris.

Contact Al Archer (I think he's up in Canada) if you don't find anyone nearer. I don't know if Al does vintage work but he used to do a fair bit of Oris stuff until they got sniffy about spares.
