I recently got an Oris Aquis, and like it a lot. It has caused me to think about what Oris represents as a brand. I think their slogan is “Real Watches for Real People”, and I believe they generally deliver on that premise.
They seem to represent consistently good value for a quality Swiss brand in the categories they compete in. The caliber of overall construction and thoughtfulness of design seems high. Their bracelets and clasps in particular seem to me to often be the best in their price range and better than those of many more expensive watches. Their designs have a generally clean, straightforward, and legible approach. I feel, however, that this description doesn’t quite capture all of the Oris “brand DNA”.
I wonder what others see in the brand, beyond, or in opposition to, the traits I mention above?
