    Your Thoughts on Oris

    Hey everybody!

I've got a good friend who owns a jewelry store, and he's interested in carrying Oris.
I figured who better to ask about the company than you guys! What are your thoughts on Oris as a company and their watches?
I've heard nothing but good things myself, and I'd love the opportunity to be able to do some video reviews for you guys!
He wants to break into the high end swiss watch territory slowly and figured Oris would be a good place to start.

What do you guys think! Let me know!
And let me know what watches you'd like to see an in depth video review of!

    Thanks, everybody!

    Re: Your Thoughts on Oris

Well I don't think you're going to find anyone here that doesn't appreciate Oris. I would say that breaking into higher end Swiss with Oris is a great choice as they get all the respect of the well known brands without the extreme cost... usually.

I have only one Oris and I just got it. But what I will say is I used to be a watch salesman as a part time job. When you do that you get to handle many brands, not just the ones you sell. Guys and gals love coming in to look and to show you what's on their wrist too. I did not sell Oris but in getting to handle a good number of them from customers' wrist my respect for the brand was very high. Of the watches I've spent time with I consider Oris to possibly be the best value. Meaning what you get for what you pay. You immediately feel it in handling the watch and in all the details.

There is an Oris AD in Massachusetts who posts here on WUS who can probably give you some good info.

Really like the new sixty-five with blue or green face - very vintage feel. The Aquis is very solid as well.

    Re: Your Thoughts on Oris

I have found that Oris the company can be a bit sniffy with customers at times but what is much more important to your friend is how they interact with their dealers. Why not suggest that your pal has a chat with the Oris rep for your region to sound him out?

    Thoughts on Oris.
DAMIFINO!!! Not deep pocketed enuff to afford one
But even a cursory look at the watch indicates it is
a keeper! A definite "Gotta have watch".

    Re: Your Thoughts on Oris

He's had a chat with the Oris dealer for our region, and apparently the dealer incentives are great, they really want to be in a location down here in the Florida Keys, so he's super excited about the potential relationship for sure.
He hasn't seen any of the watches in person, but hearing that the quality is immediately noticeable is a huge plus. Ever since he brought it up he showed me a pic of the Carl Brashear diver and I've been drooling ever since...

Thanks for the help guys! I'm thinking Oris might be a strong yes! Look out for some youtube reviews and first looks of current and upcoming models!

The only reason I sold my Artelier SS Big Crown was because of the numerals (and the fact that BCs from the late 2000s wore too big, IMO). Currently I'm pining for three, as well as a Speedmaster and Rolex, so I'd say there just as good as the big guns.
