Advice Needed: How to safely fit a Milanese or mesh strap

Hi there to anyone that has experience with mesh or Milanese straps.
I really will like to fit one to a brand new watch I just got but I feel the end link of the Milanese or the cylindrical metal portion that holds the band will rub on the inner lugs and cause excessive scratches over a long period of use.

Can anyone provide any tips on how to avoid this issue.

Thanks and and looking forward to some great input.

    Talk to you guys soon.

Perhaps you can try to polish down any sharp edges to minimize any damage, but beyond that I don't know that there's any way to avoid this.

Any strap that moves in the lugs will wear either the strap, the lugs or both so it's your choice really and depends on whether you want to enjoy the watch or keep it pristine
