This is one of my favorite watches. Iíve bought two OEM straps for it and they only last a couple months before the rubber splits. And, these rubber straps arenít cheap. The strap is held on by putting a small collar in the bigger hole and pushing a thin rod through the strap and though the collar. The thin rod is kept tight by the collar. My thought is, to make the main part of the strap out of one layer of leather, and then wrap a thin piece of leather around the ends of the strap and stitch it, to form a small, tight hole to push the pin through. Then itíll have to be cut to match the case. I can send the watch head and the two straps that are split, along with the pins and collars. I think it would be easier than it seems to make it. Let me know what you strap makers think. Iíd like something that looks vintage and rugged, in dark brown and Iíd like to use the OEM rubber keepers, for a nice contrast.
