I am working on a small project re-dyeing a leather watch strap. And I am having some problems with bleeding of the dye.
It was a originally a medium brown color that I applied a darker cordovan dye to. After drying for a few hours, I applied Acrylic Resolene to seal it.
After buffing the leather with a dry cloth, no dye comes off, but when I wipe the strap with a damp cloth, it bleeds a little.
The strap is fine if totally dry, but when I wear the strap, and sweat a little, the dye comes off and is left on my wrist.
Any help would be much appreciated!
