    Beveled NATO hardware

I'm sure many of us like the beveled hardware that comes with Toxic NATOs. Lately all my strap decisions seem to be linked to the hardware (and the material like Phenomenato is using). I made a discovery while lusting after the Blancpain NATO. Someone posted that the BP hardware (which runs in the $450 range without the strap) is pinned like a normal watch strap with a spring bar.

I re-studied my Chrostopher Ward leather NATO, and to my great surprise, it is pinned.

Christopher Ward is having a sale on some of their NATO products right now. It seemed only natural to pick up some more, if for no other reason than to have the hardware. The straps are well made, so I'll get some use out of them, but I am really looking forward to having some hardware that I may be able to swap into some of my other straps that have less than desirable hardware (like maybe a Maratac or two).

Pics for comparison . I apologize in advance for the low quality.

This shows a Toxic NATO in front of the Christopher Ward.

Are you saying that the metal keepers are not one piece loops but actually consist of a U-shaped piece and a separate springbar? Thanks for posting!

That's exactly what I'm saying. Open the first picture I attached and zoom in. You can just make out the springbar.

If you are asking why I swapped the hardware. No Maratac keeper would ever "need replacing". I just like the look of the beveled hardware better than the rounded stuff that adorns most of the Zulus out there.

If you are asking why Christopher Ward makes them that way, I would say they get better tolerance control. This is just my opinion.
