I often see sales on Chr Ward's XL straps, but I've never been able to find any sort of solid specs on the length of the straps, what size wrists they fit, etc. I decided to take a gamble during on of their sales.
Without further ado, here are the specs:
6 o'clock side is about 125mm in length, with holes from 50mm to 100mm past the lug.
The 12 o'clock side is about 113mm in length.
Here it is actually mounted to a watch and being worn
I'd say the strap is too big for me, but it does fit with the Bader deployment in the smallest hole on my 7.25" wrist. The lug-to-lug on the Mercer watch I just eyeballed at 48mm.
It was advertised as "brown." I'd call it closer to a burgundy, but not as red as "ox blood." My shoes are slightly darker than a milk chocolate brown for comparison.
This is the first embossed leather strap I've owned. I'm not super impressed with the look of the embossed leather—I suspect I wouldn't be with any embossed leather.
I much prefer the Bader deployment clasp to butterfly style deployments. Having the tail tuck in nicely is great between the clasp and wrist is great; it really cleans up the thing.
Verdict: Great for the super sale price of ~16GBP. I'll certainly keep it on the watch for a while. Worst case I'll have the deployment clasp for some other strap project in the future.
