    Cutting Floating Strap Keeper?

Is it wrong to cut off the floating strap keeper? I have a number of nice custom straps from CF and ABP and because they are designed to fit my wrist the floating keeper does nothing useful and looks bad because the end point of the strap is basically hidden and the floating keeper has to be butted up right against the sewn in one.

I cannot seem to slide the floating one over the sewn in keeper on any of them....so the option is to cut them off. Has anyone else had to do this? I know I need to just do it but it feels bad to cut into an expensive strap.

With most of my straps I just ended taking the strap off the watch and could slide the floating keeper off that end. I now have a baggy full of keepers just in case I do decide to put them back on or, even less likely, decide to sell the strap down the road.

Works if the strap's not tapered.

If it won't slide off, I'd say cut it off since it is bothering you. It's your strap, you paid a lot, and you should get maximum enjoyment from it.

It should stretch enough to take it off without cutting it.
