Cutting the width of a nato strap.

Hi all, I just got a new nato strap in green that i purchased over the internet, Since i got it and went to feed it through i noticed that it is too wide, after looking at my invoice i relised i must have clicked 24mm intead of 22mm. Has anyone trimmed these straps so that they are norrower, i have noticed that people have done it to shorten the strap but not sure about doing it length ways. Any help would be great. :thanks

Don't do it. You won't like the result, and the strap will be ruined. They're not expensive, so just buy another one. Put this one away for the day when you need a 24mm.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

You can razor the edge and then lightly burn the edge. I did this with a maratac Nato and have not had any adverse results. Some light sandpaper took care of any edges that were rough. The regimental grey lines are not quite centered anymore, but it works. Id post some pics of the leading edge but my wife has the camera.
