    Disappointed

    Received this strap

And am terribly disappointed in the stripe going down the middle. If I wanted a nato I'd have ordered one. This was supposed to be distressed grey leather. Contacted seller and was put off by response. Anyone have any tips to bring this strap to wearability?

    To the good life.

Ouch. Looks like it was pulled through with the spring bars on.
Maybe a bit of olive oil, more on the lighter area, or you could try to dye it.

Leather care product often helps to hide damage to the leather. It might help, but it might also make the situation worse depending of the leather and product combination. Sadly, not all leather care products do what they say do.

Try Sno-Seal (The same product for water proofing leather boots as such).

It contains natural ingredients including beeswax and does a great job of conditioning and darkening leather straps.

That is ... very sad :( . How was this sold? Were there no pictures? I would not send that to anyone. Get a nice leather Zulu from Dustin at N80.

What I received looks nothing like the pic on the site. It came out of the package like that. Needless to say I am done with that vendor.
Here is a pic of the back of it. Which is what I thought the front was going to look like.

I agree with Nokie,re the boot care and waterproofing for leather...Dubbin is a popular one here,(it will darken the whole strap though a bit...) all the best Dave

If you bought it on Ebay put in a complaint. The item is clearly not as described and you will get refunded.

That's bad. It was clearly dragged harshly across some tight lugs and left that nice streak down the middle. If you try some leather conditioner or something like Saddle Soap/Sno-Seal, you may be able to revive it. You really should be getting your money back, however.
