    Etsy seller JonesInTokyoLeather...anyone tried them?

Nice looking Horween-based straps, Chromexcel and shell cordovan. The big attraction for me: they have 21mm. I need a dress watch strap at 21mm, and the options are somewhat limited. Hirsch was generally too glossy; I do not like glossy. Their croc strap was $300; nope, not going that far. Most of the usual suspects don't offer 21mm. Yes, I might be able to go the fully-custom route, and I will if need be.

Bought a nice blue shell cordovan horween strap from him. A little slow in communication, but an excellent product. He is a full custom shop, so can make your strap however you like.

That can be OK. I'd expect an Etsy storefront to be a small operation...even, potentially, part time. That says a little extra patience is in order.

Thanks. Just sent him a note.

I came his straps when I did a search for 21mm straps but haven't ordered one yet. I got the impression that all his straps are made to order. There are very few ready made 21mm straps as you already know. Any custom strap maker should be able to make a strap with a 21mm lug though. I think I am going to order a canvas strap for my watch through Cloverleaf.

I have heard good things about his work, but like all Etsy vendors, you have to have patience to get what you want.

Actually, he responded to my note almost immediately...it would've been afternoon, I think, in Japan, but it was a Sunday. The order's in. I'm in no rush.

Update: got notified it has been shipped. No tracking number yet; hopefully that's coming soon.

Please post pictures when it arrives. Interested to hear your opinion as I am considering buying a few from him as well. Thanks.

Not real good, but I've never claimed to be a photographer.
The color is a dark blue-gray; it doesn't come out all that well here, but it's also not that bad. It is dark, and with a matte finish. I went with no-contrast stitching, as this is a tone poem in blue with the dial.

And I'm very, VERY happy. 5 days, I think, for regular mail...that's just fine. The pics of the underside didn't come out worth a darn, but the Horween stamp was still readily clear. So my Monk gets out of the abbey for a couple days. :)

(BTW: the OEM deployant strap is good, but too long. With a deployant clasp, the extra length wraps *underneath*, and in this case, wrapped around the wrist bone. That created a pressure point around the bone, and that wasn't comfortable.)

    Yes, I'll recommend JonesInTokyo.

How long did it take to ship after you made your order and how long until you received your strap after it was shipped?
