    Favorite deployant

What's a good affordable, non-butterfly deployant to try?

I don't have much experience with deployants. Didn't much care for the butterfly on my Tissot, but I love the design, feel, and function of the JR one on my new Terrascope. I'd love to find something like it for my other favorite leather straps.

That's funny you say that, I avoided purchasing the OEM JR deployant because many said it was uncomfortable (mine was a bracelet model, so I didn't have one prior to ordering the strap). I do like how the excess strap gets tucked under instead of over.

Because I went with an aftermarket butterfly, the strap goes outside, and now I need a keeper loop.

Now rethinking eventually getting the OEM clasp and suffering the $140... :/

Ohhh, that is one of the big things I like about the JR deployant: that the excess strap gets tucked inside. Fiddling with the keepers is probably the most annoying part of a normal buckle.

So far I've only found one brushed "single fold" deployant from an off-brand called iStrap but it's on Amazon and the reviews all say it'll only work with really thin straps because it needs to be tucked over and through a narrow gap on the non-buckle side.

Try looking at the deployants from Bob Davis.

He only has butterfly models, but thanks for the tip.

I found an eBay seller with decent looking single fold deployant clasps where the excess strap goes on the inside but he wrote back to say that he only sells them paired with straps and not on their own.

I'm surprised their aren't more options.

I like Hirsch's single fold clasp as it has more of a curve to it, fitting my wrist better and not putting an unnatural bend in my better straps. Gary at WatchObsession sells them IIRC.
