Help ID this vintage leather watch strap? WWII military?

I purchased this strap at a local military show a few years ago. It appears to be hand made/machine stitched brown leather with a brass buckle that reads "@STA-WITH" or "@STA-WITE", hard to tell due to the corrosion. Any thoughts if this is a military watch band and/or from the 1940s?Name: IMG_1639.JPG

Have to say it doesnt shout 40s to me but i am no expert.

Googling shows that "sta-wite" has been used a fair few times and places as "stay white" on a host of products. It did bring up an advertisement from 1927 for a ladies white gold watch with a sta-wite finish (https://newspapers.lib.utah.edu/deta...iner#t_6612266)

If you don't get many responses here (This could be a tough one), might try to repost this in the Vintage and Pocket Watch section as a suggestion.

Lots of members over there with great vintage knowledge.
