Homemade strap on original bracelet clasp - DONE!!!

    Hi

As you can read in the thread below, I really like the bracelet clasp, and thought it would be cool to use it in combo with a leather strap.

Since there's no such strap availible, I had to make my own. After experimenting with a prototype (see above thread), I have now make my first real try...

    What do you think?!?

Yeah I know - I should have spend 10 min. more on measuring the stitching holes

Nice job, there is a good feeling making things for youself.

Try one of these next time for the stitching holes......a good site for all sorts.

    That is really nice.

Maybe the solution for me as I do like the look of a leather strap but not the way it sits on my wrist.
I will have to give it a try, know where I can pick up a decent clasp?

I like the handmade look of the strap. However, I would have chosen a thinner leather. My guess is that you will be soon working on another strap, if not already. Congratulations!

Several times I have been tempted to make a strap for one of my watches or cameras but not having the least knowledge about leather tooling I've let it pass. Would you care to post detailed instructions?

Way better than some of the strapmakers stuff you see around, it looks tight fairly crisp and clean the quality looks like it was done by an adult and not a 12 year old well done God job..

Very good looking strap. Like the leather alot, just a bit thinner and straighter with the stitches would be my one change. Congrats

Thanks for posting this. My family has been in the leather and various skin business for decades now, so I got the idea to make a strap out of very high quality leather for my Graf that's coming in. We have so many scraps, I can make a whole bunch for different days of the week.
