Good morning, Newbie here. My strap on my wonderful Christmas present of 2012 is becoming quite frayed. I want to put one of the leather straps from the Nato website link on, but just wanted to ask how easy it would be?

Very. I do it every other week or so. Many good youtube vids (as Geoff has posted above) and posts with step-by-step instructions on this forum.

When I first changed a strap, this is the link I used:

How did it get so late so soon?

The videos make the job seem easy as pie although, I'm sure that I would find some way to screw it up

I have read where some people suggest using scotch tape to protect the watch case but, I can't visualize it.

I would greatly appreciate any photos showing the proper placement of tape

They're putting tape on front and back of lugs. When the compressed pin clears the lug, it will expand and scratch the surface. That's why it's always best to work from the back. I don't mind a scratch on the back of the lug. It actually helps me locate the position of the hole when I'm trying to get the pin back into it.
