    Kangaroo

I've yet to see any straps advertised as using Kangaroo skin. This is a bit odd as, for example, motorcycle racing suits are made of the material because of its durability and resistance to abrasion - plus it's soft and flexible. I'd have thought it an obvious choice for watch straps as it also has a rather nice surface pattern. If someone takes up my suggestion I'd like a free sample for inspiring you...

When I was first in Australia in the early 70s I was offered a small leather coin wallet which appeared to have no stitching at all. This puzzled me until the vendor pointed out that it was made from a Kangaroo's scrotum. Wish I'd bought it...

I know Hodinkee has Kangaroo NATOs.

Kangaroo scrotums can still be had down under in various forms such as bottle openers - I've yet to see a nut cracker though...

    Re: Kangaroo

Have a number of Kangaroo boots and find the hide to have excellent durability and comfort.

I have heard very good things about the Hodinkee kangaroo straps as well.

    Re: Kangaroo

You can get Kangaroo as a watch strap, though it isn't that common. I have a strap that uses it as a liner leather for example, great stuff. Some places do call it "motorcycle" leather, which may lead to some confusion, but also avoid the "you killed a cute kangaroo for this??!?!?!?!" debacle.

I was a kangaroo scotrum wrangler back in the summer of 89, we didn't have the fancy tools of today, a good tackle and a good set of chompers was all we needed.

In all seriousness you are spot on about Kangaroo leather, its very soft but also very tough.

Its a very sustainable leather are we have plague proportions of Roos in a lot of areas, numbers always need to be controlled and we eat a lot too, Kangaroo skin should be in good supply.

You might be onto something here mate.
