    Leather Strap for Citizen Watch

Hello all, I am a new member here and fairly new to the watch world (trying to learn as much as possible) and have a quick question about strap choices for a watch. I bought a Citizen "Diver" (it's not really a true diver) about 6 months ago and am looking to switch from a black two-piece nato that is currently on the watch to a leather strap. Unfortunately, I am a college student so my watch budget is not as large as I wish it could be, as you will see from my watch choice.

This is the watch I bought..

and I am looking to switch out the nato strap for something leather. Since the dial is black would a brown leather strap look bad?

I was thinking about this strap...

but I am worried that the thickness of the strap would be too much since the case diameter for the watch is only 38 mm. Would anyone have any suggestions as to other leather straps I could buy that would compliment the watch well that isn't more than $40 or $50?

Thanks in advance and am loving this site!

Here is one black leather strap for Seiko, but can be for Citizen too.

That is a nice watch. I have a 20mm seiko diver on a 26mm strap that is notched to fit. You might like that too. Tho 26 may be too much for your watch a notched look might be something for ya. As to the color, well black goes with anything, right?

Welcome aboard! Personally, thick straps would look right at home on a diver. Try a Hirsch Liberty series. Good luck!

The notch is a awesome idea, I may look into that. Thanks!

The 007 is basically the Seiko equivalent of my watch so this is a great point of reference. Thank you!

I was thinking about the a Liberty strap originally but after doing some digging have heard some negative reports on strap quality and durability. Do you have any experience with Hirsch?
