    Looking for brass buckles!

    Hi, strap and bracelet magnates -

    I am a fool! I ordered a lovely custom made leather strap for my brass Armida A8. But, because I am the aforementioned fool, I neglected to measure both ends of the current strap and assumed I could use by current Armida buckle on the new strap (which is not tapered).

    Alas, I now have a watch with 22mm lugs, a 20mm brass buckle, and a beautiful new strap with no buckle.

    So, I'm hoping to find a 22mm brass buckle. I'm not having much luck. I know there are bronze ones out there, and I know how to flame a stainless one, but ideally I would actually like to find a true 22mm brass one. Does anybody know where I can find one?

    Many thanks!
    Scott

    Did you try ebay? I have seen a few pop up under "Watch Accessories" now and then.

    Brad Jenkins, member here and sells on etsy, has "bronze" prev buckles that match your brass armida perfectly. Pm if you need some pictures. You can trust my first hand experience with it.

    They're available right here on the sales forum. https://forums.watchuseek.com/f319/br...op-979754.html

    Oops, sorry, I noticed you wanted real brass. They look good though.

    I would just cut 1mm off each sides, at the end of the new strap
    You can either slope it, or make a L shape

    -------------------\ <------------- trim 1mm
    . LEATHER======= |
    . STRAP=========|
    -------------------/ <------------- trim 1mm

    ------------------|_ <------------- trim 1mm

    Thanks all. I'm really hesitant to cut up this nice strap. I settled for an eBay bronze buckle that looks a heck of a lot like amacman's (only because I read that post after I bought the one on eBay). I'll keep ya posted!

    Even if you notch where the buckle is, you must also notch the long strap to fit inside the 20mm buckle.

    If you keep it polished up with Flitz, Simichrome, or a Cape Cod cloth (or similar) they look dead on for brass. Its only as they patina that they start to look different.

    Thanks mate. I have a bronze watch or two en route so I may be hitting you up for a couple shortly, regardless.
