Made my second watch band out of Gator.

I made it for a 44mm MM but that particular watch got lost in shipping. I picked this watch up from a forum member and put this band on it.

I used Florida Alligator, tanned by a buddy of mine, and lined it with Kangaroo.

I bet it's a real head ache getting gator across the boarder. I've got registration tags on mine but they still might stop me crossing state lines.

Ditto ... that almost rivals Ted Su's early vintage straps. Looks great, keep it up (you can send me one)

That depends on the situation. I'm pretty sure, that if I ever fall into a pit with gators, I'll prefer if they were made into watch straps..

Regarding human skin straps, I saw a program about an obese guy having strip of belly skin removed after some liposuction, there were skin for plenty of watch straps there - it would probably still be pretty weird wearing it on the wrist, "Yup, thats a genuine southern texas lard-ass belly strap" hehe..

    “any human skin straps?”

No, but plenty of bovine, buffalo, snake, beaver, North American Alligator, Emu, Kangaroo, Elk, Deer, carp, and some remnants of Shark, Ray, Eel, Elephant, Wolf, Ermine you know the regular stuff nothing too exotic or what can’t be bought legally in the United States. This doesn’t include the fur on stuff I use for tying flies.

Ethic aside, I don’t really think that human skin would hold up to the rigors that a watchband has to endure, from my research it was used as book covers and lamp shades but I only know of the ..... doing this, though I’m sure megalomaniacs in other era probably did too. Even so I seriously doubt that you could get it across any boarders unless it was part of a museum collection. I don’t think I’ll be able to help with a human skin watch band nor would I want to. But good luck with that.

This album slide show will give you an idea of what I do, I made everything except the telecaster and the modern guns.

lol I have even seen bullfrog skin that im sure could be made into a strap aswell.

back on topic though. I love the color of that gator skin. I have done some searching for a good gator skin of a decent color and have been unable to find one.

that is a great looking strap you have there.
