    Magnetic band for Auto watch?

So I love the feeling of the Milanese watch bands for smart watches that have the magnetic “clasp”. I’m wondering if anyone knows the affect (if any) that these bands would have if using on an automatic watch...anyone know?

Don't do it. Unless it's an Omega with a 15,000 Gauss anti-magnetic rating, keep any magnet far away from your mechanical watches.

An interesting question--I've been eyeing a bracelet for my non-watch wrist, but it has a magnetic clasp. I never even thought of it as a potential problem (although maybe I should have)

Can Milanese bands have a regular clasp?

Yes, you can get a milanese mesh with a mechanical clasp. WatchGecko, among others, sell them.

That’s a bummer as I really like the magnificent clasp! It’s easy to put on and even easier putting back on the cuff for the watch box (I have small wrists)! But makes total sense.

If you are storing your Apple watch with your other watches in a watch box, it may not be a wise idea. This is because the magnetic clasp on Apple's watchband may magnetize the other watches while in the watch box.

That would be a no no. Magnetism plays havoc with watch movements. In fact demagnatizing a movement is a part of regulating it for accuracy.

It might be O.K. but I don’t think I’d put it to the test.
