Need Help Identifying Watch Band [Hadley Roma?]

It says Hadley-Roma, but which one is this? My guess is the shiny alligator band or the pebbled alligator band. I don't know if this is a genuine product or leather. If it is leather, I don't know what animal it is from or what type or pattern it is. I am clueless about watches, straps, and horology, so I stick with affordable Seiko quartz movement to play it safe.

So I managed to get a vintage NOS Seiko for $20! It came with both a leather strap and the original metal strap, all are in immaculate condition. Because the clasp of the leather band said "China", I thought it was cheap stuff. After receiving the watch, I brought it to a Seiko store to have the bands switched. Stupid me didn't do my research, it turns out to be a Hadley Roma band. I told the lady servicing the watch to destroy the bands if she had to, if it made switching to a metal band easier. After the band is ruined, only then I learned the MSRP of this band is potentially around $89-$200

HR makes inexpensive, as well as, expensive straps. I think if this strap was actual crocodile or gator, it would say "genuine crocodile", rather than "genuine leather". I don't think you wasted much money, here.

I agree. If it was something exotic it would usually be labeled as such. Looks like a nice buy for the $.

It's a leather strap that's embossed with crocodile grain. Probably worth about $30.

Thanks for the response! I thought I ruined an exotic strap. I've decided to keep the leather band and replace the clasp with a no-name deployant from eBay. The strap tapers from 18mm to 16mm. Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm assuming I'll need a 16mm deployant?

If it is embossed it is most likely cowhide. They apply a lacquer over the time to give it that glossy shine.

You would need to buy a 16mm deployant for that strap, that is correct.
