    Need a suggestion (or two)

I just bought a Victorinox Alpnach 241574 that is all PVD black. It is a military style watch and I am looking
for a military / vintage look brown leather or canvas strap to put on it. A few years ago I saw a PVD Fortis with this look and I am trying to replicate it to some extent. Any suggestions on a strap or where to look? Strapcode seems to have a couple that might work but since you guys have great taste, I thought I'd ask here. Also, I'll need to buy some tools and a guide to change the straps. I have never done it before, but I think I might be doing it more often.

You can also look at the sticky at the top of this forum for a list of on line strap vendors you can review for ideas.

Well what's your budget because that is really the biggest factor. If you are willing to drop a real dime you can get some seriously vintage military looking straps, Gunny Straps for example will be everything you want and more. But if you want to keep this sub 50 bucks or something it is going to have an impact. Also do you know the lug width on the watch? That's also a big factor. As for strap changing, just a normal strap tool will do you. You can get them at almost any site that also sells watch straps, amazon, or any number of other places. 5-10 bucks for one is about normal.

Here is one from amazon for example: https://www.amazon.com/GGI-Spring-Bar-Tool-Set/dp/B005ZEWGSA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468616660&sr=8-1&keywords=strap+changing+tool

Here is a video on how to change a strap, it is about as thorough as you would ever need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtPde-M5Xz0

In the $70 range, the strap code MiLTAT Tela e Pelle might be up your alley

The MILTAT is a good suggestion.

Maybe a BOB Marino Nytech strap (black with black)? High quality, not very pricey (around $30), could fit a military look. Or a similar Brady strap.

Hey guys. I've had a few people reach out to me in PM's and I went with Clover Straps. Here is what we went with. I'll post pics when I get it on the watch.
