    New watch, which strap? Help!!

    Hey guys!

I recently acquired a Tag Heuer Carrera Cal.16 Chrono (CV2011). I got it with a bracelet, which is aweseome but I want a black horween leather strap that suits it well so I can dress it up a little when needed. I have been looking at a few options but I am a little confllicted due to the wacthes thickness (around 16mm) but the lugs are only about 4-5 mm thick. So I am not sure how thick the strap should be? Also staying away from "OEM" straps due to price. If anyone could give me their thoughts on the straps I am considering, that would be aweseom!! Thanks!

Also (side question): Would a dark brown or tan strap look good as well? Not buying one at this moment, just curious!

I think the main question is the position of the spring bar holes i.e. how far from the case they are and will there be enough space if the strap is heavily padded. Probably it's not a problem as the OEM straps seem to be padded so it's mainly up to you if you prefer padded or flat strap. Rios1931 and Fluco are quality strap makers so both will be good options. And I believe Fluco actually makes straps for Nomos so you might not want to pay extra for Nomos branding in this case. Overall shell cordovan strap are very durable and comfortable and I think that also dark brown and tan would look good on your watch.

Very helpful! I didn't know Fluco makes straps for Nomos. Thanks for the info! I will skip on the Nomos then :).

Might also look at the "Sponsor" section of this site as well for other options.

Good luck. The Tag is very versatile and should go well with any strap.
