    Notch strap to fit?

Does anyone have experience notching the end of say a 22mm strap to fit 20mm lugs? Is it best to seal the end with something - and advantages/disadvantages?

I have never gotten good results trying to notch a strap ... it always ends up looking home made. You can pinch about a millimeter (a 24mm strap into 23mm lugs) but beyond that I would say buy a properly sized strap.

What he said. However, if you have a flat strap that is a single piece of leather, you'll have a much better chance. Same for rubber or silicone straps.

Hmm okay, that's kind of what I was thinking. It seems like professionally notching a strap is not easy, and probably why it is not done often. I am hoping to do a 22mm strap on 20mm lugs. If I try it out I'll post again. Thanks!

Notching tends to look better when there is a larger difference in size, like notching a 24mm strap to fit a 20mm lug.

Somewhere on a watch thread there was a demo on how to do exactly that and ended up looking like it should, perfect.
But outside of that this Di Modell Pilot strap fits the bill.....
