The problem with two-piece Nato straps is...

They put the keepers under the wrist instead of on the side of the wrist. What makes a Nato strap is that extra volume it adds on the side of the watch. All the two-piece straps do is add extra, uncomfortable material under the wrist.

I'm thinking of making my own, but I can't find the material. Otherwise I would need to purchase two straps to get enough length, then cut and sew.

I wear single pass straps so I can wear the buckle under the wrist where it belongs.

The problem with 2 piece nato is it defeats the prime purpose of a nato....to secure the watch if one of the springbars fails.

That's exactly the reason why we created our WB Original two-piece NATOs

Or just call them nylon straps if a NATO can only be a single piece strap. Yet you're right, a single piece NATO prevents your watch from falling off your wrist in the very unlikely event of spring bar failure.

Most people who like the NATO nylon, but don't like the bulky leftover on the side (which is often too short to fold in the buckles again, or too long, what makes it even thicker) are very happy with this solution. The thickness on the downside of the wrist is as any other normal watch strap. Furthermore, you don't cover the beautiful glass case back of the watch, if it has one.

In your opinion it's a problem, for others it's an advantage - that's personal choice and we respect that of course

Here are some customer pictures, which show the advantages of a two piece NATO strap.

I'm putting this on a G-shock. I like the fold on the side but don't want the extra bulk underneath the watch, or under my wrist. I'm not running from gunfire or diving so if a spring bar fails I'll pick up my watch and replace the bar.

There is no extra bulk underneath, it's a normal strap and underneath it's the same like a leather strap for example.
