    quick question about this deployant buckle.

    can someone please show me how do these type of buckles work? thanks

    Same as an Omega OEM. Long end goes under, rather than over. Post on left in strapcode pic goes into hole. Omega OEM on right in my picture.

    What he said, plus, you need a strap with the correct thickness to thread thru the side w/o the springbar.

    As others have said, the type of strap that works with that type of clasp needs to be thinned to a maximum of about 3mm thickness along the length where the holes are. Most straps are too thick to fit this type of clasp, and most of the straps that do are spec'd specifically to work with it. In comparison, the generic butterfly or single fold clasps will work with almost any strap.
